Happy NYE everyone!! What a Year it has been. I honestly cannot believe 2017 is almost over. What is everyones plan for New Years eve? Is a glam party? A chill cabin night? Game night with friends and family? Or a night on the town with friends and loved ones? No matter what it is, I think it’s always fun to add a little glam, black, and sparkle to your outfit and thought i’d give you some ideas with clothes you probably already have. Here’s my firsts. I call it classic glam. Do you have a Black dress? Or how bout a lace dress? If so, you could add a glam curl with a side part and tuck behind the ear, some sparkly earrings, red lips, sparkle eyeshadow, some heels and you’ve got yourself the perfect classic, glam look. You’ll be looking hot and bound to impress all the boys – husband, boyfriend, crush, etc.
Truth be told, I’ve had these nude bow heels for years. They go with absolutely any dress, or dressed up outfit and can be worn all year long. Honestly, every single girl needs a good pair of nude heels in their closet. Not only, do they go with everything making them practical, but heels in general are a must. If you didn’t already know, Boys LOVE heels. They make any girls legs look skinnier and longer, plus they really boosts the booty. I feel so feminine and confident whenever I wear them – and I’m 5’11 so I am really tall wearing them. I say, rock whatever you’ve got. Tall, short, big, little, who cares! You are all so special and deserve to feel pretty and confident, no matter what!! Now, off my soap box .. I linked some of my favorite nude heels below.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas filled with love, joy, and laughter. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by that each and everyday and pray that you all do too. Thanks for stopping by!!
Merry Christmas Lovelies!!! As the Christmas festivities begin, I wanted to give you a little inspo on what to wear. I got this beauty from The Stock Place. I linked some similar styles below, as well as similar shoes and earrings.
This really is the most wonderful time of the year. I’m so grateful I get to spend it with the ones I love most and celebrate the greatest gift ever given – The Savior of the world. I can’t help but reflect on the true meaning of the season, and tell you all how much the Savior means to me.
“The same God that placed that STAR in a precise orbit millennia before it appeared over Bethlehem in celebration of the birth of the Babe has given at least equal attention to placement of each of us in precise human orbits so that we may, if we will, illuminate the landscape or our individual lives, so that our light may not only lead others, but warm them as well”. – Neil A. Maxwell #LighttheWorld
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with love and joy. I am truly grateful for each and every one of my readers and followers and wish you the Happiest Holidays, a Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
Thank you for stopping by, reading, and for following me on this blogging journey. I truly appreciate it and want to thank you all for helping me to create a space to share my creations (whether that be dance, styling, putting together fun outfits, photography, traveling, or just putting my thoughts into words).
Nothing says Memorial Day like a good blue dress, amiright? Normally on Memorial Day I would be with my family having a pool party/bbq in my backyard. Enjoying the nice summer day, relaxing, and playing with my nieces and nephews. Not gonna lie, I’m sad I won’t be there this year. But, I’m headed for a run in Central Park, babysitting my dance teachers cutest baby, shopping with friends, and dinner at El Centro. Can’t complain, it will be a great day in the city, but I sure do miss my fam a little extra today.
Another great thing about Memorial day are the unbeatable sales! Everyone is having them, so I thought I would share a few of my faves. If you click the link, it will take you directly to their site..
Hey babes! I’m so excited to announce that I am officially finished with school.. for the semester. BUT, there is a light at the end of the tunnel because I only have 2 semesters left. CRAZY. I finished my last final today and now I am home free. Bring on Summer 2k16. This summer will be one for the books bc T minus 3 weeks until I leave for the Big Apple. I can’t wait to learn and grow so much as a photographer and dancer. Stay tuned for the big adventures I have ahead. I really owe so much of my success to all my readers. I don’t think I would ever be where I am without you all. So grateful for all you babes. Also, S/O to Ted Baker for making some of the most gorgeous, elegant, and unique dresses there ever were.
Happy Spring! I was telling my friends the other day, I literally think I am a different person when the sun is shining! I am so much more driven, happy, and enthusiastic about life. HA I think it means I need to live somewhere that it’s warm all year long.. California maybe?? I’d be down. Let’s goooo.
In other news, today is the last day of classes here at BYU, finals start on Friday, i’m done on Saturday, I move out of my apartment (SAD), I go to San Fran with my friends, maybe a cruise, then I am off to NYC for the entire summer. I am doing an internship with a fashion photographer, Jon Moe, then once the internship ends I’ll be training with the Rockettes to hopefully (fingers crossed) get a contract with them. However, I have one more year of school, so we will see what happens. Lot’s of fun plans ahead of me and I couldn’t be more excited!
Okayyyy… To say I am obsessed with his dress would be an understatement. Sometimes I feel like Isla Fisher in Confessions of a Shopaholic, Where she says, “you know that feeling you get when you see a cute guy, he looks at you, smiles, and your heart melts like butter running down warm toast? That’s what it’s like when I see a store.” That’s how I felt when I saw this dress at Bloomingdales in Chicago. Okay, literally the most dramatic thing I have ever said (and I think I like cute boys more..) but honestly, it was fate because there was only one more, it was my size, It fit me like a glove, AND it was ON SALE! Seriously, what are the chances? (I’m crying out of laughter as I write this because, bless my heart).. However, You too can get the love and satisfaction that I got out of this dress b/c I found it on Sandro Paris website, and It’s also on sale! Why do I get so much satisfaction when I find a winning piece of clothing AND It’s on sale? Priorities people.. but really though?
Something I think is slightly comical (the older I get, the funnier it gets) is that each year, every girl (including myself) find so much satisfaction in having “A Valentine”. It is so fun to have someone who loves you, and cares deeply for you. However, we often look past all the amazing people that are already in our lives, constantly looking for the one person who will make you feel “special”. But truth is, those people are all around us. Yes, it is so much fun to have “A Valentine”, and yes you feel so lucky to have someone like that in your life, but at the same time, there doesn’t have to be just one valentine. Today is about love and about making others feel loved and important. There are soo many people who can do that for you. As part of the Love Yourself Campaign I have been asked to be a part of, I’ve realized that it really is so important to look at the good within yourself, to love yourself, before you can truly love anyone else. I LOVE Valentines Day. Partly, because I love receiving flowers (who ever thought a girl could feel so loved than to receive a big bouquet of flowers), Love the colors- pink, pink, and more pink, I love the joy that comes from truly loving a person and vice versa, and the opportunity it allows us to share our love with those around us. It’s true what they say, Love is the most powerful thing in the world. I love, love. I love all the incredible people in my life, And I love all of you lovelies, because without you, none of this would ever be possible. I hope you have so much fun dressing up in the best colors ever, get lots of flowers, eat tons of chocolate, and feel so much love. You, are all amazing and worth being loved. Always always remember that.
Hello Lovelies. Okay.. It is really cold. Holy Moly, it is hard for me to even get outside. I was just in Chicago, which you saw if you follow me on Instagram @megricks (stay tuned to find out the exciting reasons I was there).. anyways, it was so warm there. I mean for Chicago at least. They are having an amazingly good winter. We seriously lucked out big time. We definitely picked the right year to go. Anyways, back to the weather here.. Lately, getting dressed has been a major struggle. I am getting kind of sick of my winter clothes and boots. I try to switch things up and make it different. But, I realized, sometimes you just have to get back to the classics. This pencil skirt has been on repeat this winter. I’ve paired it so many different ways (As seen Here) It’s a staple piece forsure. Also, It’s currently on sale, plus an additional 30% off right now. And to be honest, the great thing about a J.Crew Pencil skirt is that they stay in style for so long. It is a classic, and something you can keep wearing for years to come. Which, in my opinion, makes spending a little more money worth it, since it is such good quality you will be able to keep it longer than you would a cheaper item. So, I think a splurge every once in a while is totally okay.. especially when a it is a classic and it’s from J.Crews winter sale. Makes for a much cheaper “splurge”. If you needed justification, there it is (ha).
I also just wanted to say thank you to all my readers and followers. Your comments have been so kind and supportive and I couldn’t be more grateful. You guys are the best. Thanks for stopping by!
Hello and Happy New Year (even though its already the 12th..)! For my first post of 2016 I wanted to share my New Years Eve look. You can never go wrong with a little black dress, no matter what age or occasion. I think every girl needs an LBD. They are absolutely timeless, chic and oh so flattering. I found this dress at Anthropologie in New York last month. It was love at first sight. I like how different it is and that it’s a little bit edgy on top but classy and cute on bottom. It could also be worn in so many different ways which is the best part about it. That’s actually the great think about any dress really, that they can be worn 100 different ways. Dressed up or down, you’ll always have a winning outfit.
As a side note: I am so excited to start posting a little more often this year. I have so many fun ideas and collaborations coming up so keep your eyes peeled.
